Artist's Description
I have been fascinated and enchanted by humingbirds since I was a child. It is a true joy and challenge to capture one of these beautiful creatues in flight, composed in a natural setting. This is one of my favorite photographs that I have taken, of a colorful hummingbird as it makes its way to a bright orange blossom of the aloe plant, banking in with its long beak even with the horizon.

From my first little plastic box camera purchased at an auction for $1, to the first Nikon acquired in the mid-1970s, I have always had a camera and a passion for creating images. Early formal photographic education came during high school, where for two years, two hours a day, I had the opportunity to learn under the German master who taught us photographic technique, darkroom processes, and graphic design and communication. From this point, my parents let me set up a little darkroom in the basement of our small home in Ocala, Florida.
