Nature Photograph by Wayne Nielsen. A brown pelican leaps over the water. While visiting the gulf coast of Florida, at Cedar Key, I was fortunate to catch this pelican as it takes to flight, appearing to leap over a barnacle ring. This rural part of the Florida coast on the Gulf of Mexico, is home to extensive water birds and wildlife. This is a unique photograph showing the beauty and power of this large avian fisherman - the Pelican.
